What Makes a Crossword Puzzle Hard?
Scale. Our hard grids run 13×15 up to a full 15×15 and carry eighteen themed answers apiece — roughly half again the word count of a medium grid, packed onto the biggest sheet we print. More answers mean more crossings to keep straight and more places where a gap in your vocabulary costs you five squares. The vocabulary itself stays family-friendly: hard here is the size of the sit, not trivia obscurity.
Every clue is still one plain sentence, the same as our easy and medium crossword puzzles — there are just eighteen of them crossing on one page. The answer key prints on its own sheet, so the challenge is strictly optional; hand it out or hold it back until the pencils go down.
